The award winning Chester Piccolino is located in a dated commercial block built in the 1960s and situated in a small square next to the medieval town wall.
As the original building is featureless the design of the restaurant had to provide all the incident and visual excitement necessary for a successful restaurant and bar.
Our concept was to create a ceiling composed of dramatic semi circular vaults terminated by illuminated wine displays.  These are set behind frameless glass full height doors, reflecting the suspended lighting within the vaults.
The ceiling vaults and rows of banquette seating define the different areas in this large restaurant and define a series of intimate spaces.
Among other accolades, Chester Piccolino won a major Manchester Society of Architects design award.
