Working with a traditional Victorian house our client’s brief was to create a modern and open interior that would serve the dual function of house and office.
The extension is flooded with light through a long glazed lantern and sliding/folding glazed screen, visually linking the interior and the walled garden.
The stepped ceiling, lit by concealed and carefully located and designed lighting, creates a subtle interplay of light and shade and is a major feature of the interior design.
From the road, the front of the house remains traditional with little indication of the modern interior and rear elevation.
